Representation is context
A hexadecimal or binary string does not automatically tell you whether a value is signed, how wide it is, whether bytes are little endian, or whether the bits represent an integer or floating-point value.
Convert base-10 integers to base 8 using arbitrary-precision integer arithmetic.
Convert a non-negative decimal integer with repeated division by 8. Quotients and remainders are shown step by step, then reversed to prove the final octal digits.
