Emoji are Unicode characters and sequences. Rendering can differ by operating system, font, app, and Unicode/Emoji version. Sequence handling here follows Unicode Emoji structure; the searchable catalog is curated rather than an exhaustive emoji encyclopedia.

VS15/VS16 are presentation requests, not arbitrary font switches

Selectors are limited to emoji-capable scalar bases. Ordinary letters, regional indicators and standalone modifier components are rejected instead of receiving meaningless selectors.
