The calculator uses full floating-point values internally and rounds only for display. Currency or indivisible-item allocations may need a final cent/unit reconciliation after rounding.

Floating-point shares can add mathematically to the total while rounded cents or whole units do not. Decide whether shares must total exactly 100%, whether they may be normalized, and how leftover units are assigned before distributing real money, inventory, seats, points or other indivisible quantities.
Normalization changes the effective shares. A 40/30/20 input does not remain 40%, 30% and 20% after rescaling to 100%. Preserve both the entered percentages and the normalized percentages in the report so recipients can see that the policy changed the allocation basis.
When each share is rounded down to the chosen unit, sort the fractional remainders and assign leftover units to the largest remainders until the exact total is restored. Keep the floor amount, fractional remainder and final amount visible so the reconciliation can be audited rather than hidden.
A calculator can split the numeric total but cannot decide which revenue, expense, tax, reserve or fee belongs in that total. Confirm the contractual or policy basis first, then use the split as arithmetic evidence. Store the rule with the exported allocation when the result will be reused.
