Practical guide and verification
A quote is a business document, not just a total
A useful quote identifies the supplier and client, describes the scope, lists prices and taxes clearly, states how long the offer is valid, and records important assumptions or exclusions.
Quote versus estimate
An estimate usually communicates an expected cost that may change; a quote can imply a firmer offered price depending on wording and local law. Use the document type that matches the commercial commitment you intend.
Scope clarity
Describe deliverables specifically enough that the client can tell what is included. Ambiguous scope is a more serious problem than perfect typography.
