Random String Generator

Choose length, alphabet, and output count; randomness comes from the browser Crypto API.

All sensitive values on this page are processed in your browser. Do not treat a browser utility as a replacement for an audited password manager, hardware security device, or application-specific security review.

Cryptographic batch + entropy audit

Generate many strings with rejection-sampled browser randomness, normalize the alphabet and surface collision/entropy assumptions.

Batch + entropy
Entropy is the ideal uniform-alphabet estimate. It is not a password-strength guarantee for a larger authentication system.

Practical guide and verification

Character set determines the search space

String length alone does not describe the number of possible outputs. The available character set and whether each position is sampled independently determine the theoretical search space.

Random-looking is not automatically secure

For passwords, tokens or API secrets, the generator needs a cryptographically secure source of randomness. A general pseudo-random generator can look random while remaining unsuitable for security credentials.

Common mistake

Do not remove “confusing” characters after generation without accounting for the smaller character set, and do not reuse one generated secret across unrelated services.

Browser-local cryptographic utilities

preserves the established Web Crypto workflows while connecting token, key, KDF, encryption/signature, fingerprint and verification jobs. Inputs stay in your browser unless the page clearly states that a network request is required.

Protocol boundary

Correct primitive output does not certify a complete protocol, key-management system, parameter choice, endpoint, or production deployment. Match the source system exactly and use established application/security libraries for production authentication and storage.
