SQL CREATE TABLE Generator

Build starter table DDL in the browser and review generated SQL before adapting constraints and vendor-specific syntax.

ReadyGenerates a basic table definition; database-specific types and constraints remain your responsibility.

Before running the SQL

The SQL layer keeps transformation, generation, and inspection in the browser. Existing /SQL engines remain intact while the new inspector adds statement, table/CTE, placeholder, clause, and bounded structural-warning context.

Parser and execution boundary

WebToolArc does not connect to a database or execute these statements. The shared scanner handles common lexical structures, quoted strings/identifiers, comments, parameters, and practical references, but it is not a vendor-complete grammar, schema validator, optimizer, lineage engine, or security review. Use a real database/parser when those guarantees matter.

Practical guide and verification

Use the tool first, then apply these checks to verify inputs, interpret the result, and hand it off without displacing the primary workflow.

Choose the target SQL dialect before generating DDL

Identifier quoting, auto-increment syntax, data types, defaults, booleans, and constraint syntax differ across PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server, SQLite, and other engines. Set the dialect first and review every generated type against the actual database version instead of treating generic SQL as universally portable.

Model keys and nullability as data rules

A CREATE TABLE statement should express more than column names and types. Decide primary keys, uniqueness, nullability, defaults, foreign keys, and check constraints from the data model. Adding those rules after production data exists can be harder and may reveal rows that already violate the intended schema.

Test generated DDL in a disposable environment

Before running DDL on a live database, use a development schema or transaction where supported. Inspect the generated SQL, create the table, insert representative edge cases, and verify indexes and constraints. The generator does not know migration order, privileges, existing objects, or production rollback requirements.

Preserve the schema recipe with the generated SQL

Keep the source column definition list, selected dialect, and generated statement together in version control or a migration system. This makes later changes auditable and prevents a copied SQL fragment from losing the assumptions that produced it. For team handoff, include database version and naming conventions too.
