Code Typing Test
Choose a code sample and measure WPM, accuracy, and exact-character errors including punctuation and whitespace.
Code Typing Test: WPM, Accuracy & Error Profile
Measure code typing with character accuracy, whitespace and punctuation errors, effective CPM/WPM and exactness evidence.
Practical guide and verification
Use the tool first, then use these checks to interpret, verify and hand off the result without turning explanatory content into the primary workflow.
Use accuracy before speed as the primary signal
A high WPM result with frequent syntax or character errors is usually less useful than a slightly slower clean run. Compare accuracy and the error profile across repeated tests, then look at speed only after the same language, snippet difficulty and duration are held reasonably constant.
Keep whitespace rules consistent between sessions
Programming text can treat spaces, tabs and line breaks as meaningful. If one session uses exact comparison and another ignores trailing whitespace, the scores are not directly comparable. Record the selected error mode with exported results.
Repeat with the same snippet family for trend checks
Different languages and snippets vary in punctuation, symbols, indentation and word length. For a meaningful personal trend, repeat a comparable test configuration and capture several sessions instead of treating one unusually easy or difficult sample as a stable typing rate.
Interpret the error profile as browser-observed input
Keyboard layout, IME behavior, auto-correction, accessibility software and browser shortcuts can affect what reaches the page. The test measures the text entered into this browser field; it is not a hardware latency or switch-performance benchmark.
