CSV to HTML Table Converter

Parse delimited data, escape cell content, and generate a table with the first row as headers.

ReadyProcessing stays in your browser.

CSV and spreadsheet boundaries

CSV has no universal schema or type system. Delimiter detection and type summaries are practical heuristics, while repairs create a new copy instead of silently altering the source. Excel conversion focuses on cell values and simple worksheets rather than promising perfect preservation of formulas, macros, charts, external links, formatting or every workbook feature.

Use this result with confidence

Parse CSV before generating markup

Quoted commas, embedded newlines, escaped quotes, and alternate delimiters make naive line splitting unsafe. Verify the parser against representative rows before trusting the table. When the source is TSV or semicolon-delimited, choose that dialect explicitly instead of assuming every spreadsheet export is comma-separated.

Distinguish headers from ordinary cells

A first row that contains labels should become semantic header cells when the output will be read by people or assistive technology. Use thead and th where appropriate, and consider scope attributes for row or column headers. Styling alone does not give a cell header semantics.

Escape data without escaping the structure

Cell values can contain <, >, &, quotes, or text that resembles HTML. Escape those values so they remain data while keeping the generated table tags as markup. If intentionally trusted HTML must be embedded inside cells, that becomes a separate sanitization policy rather than a CSV conversion feature.

Preview the same markup you plan to copy

A code block can look correct while producing unexpected column counts or broken rows in a browser. Compare row and column counts, preview the rendered table, and keep the original CSV available. For large datasets, verify a sample near the beginning, middle, and end before publishing.
