Passphrase Generator

Use unrelated random words and sufficient length; do not turn a memorable phrase based on personal facts into a supposedly random passphrase.

Loading…Bundled random word selection

Entropy shown here applies only to independent uniform selection from the loaded word list. A human-written phrase does not inherit this value merely because it has the same word count.

Sensitive values stay in this browser page. Theoretical entropy/search-space math assumes uniform random generation and is not a crack-time promise for human-chosen passwords. Use a reputable password manager for real account storage.

Passphrase Generator: Entropy, Diceware & Local Privacy

Generate passphrases locally and estimate entropy from word count, word-list size, separators, capitalization and added digits.

Modern password guidance without false certainty

keeps password/passphrase generation and review browser-local while shifting guidance toward length, uniqueness, common-password blocking, password-manager compatibility, MFA, and compromise-driven changes rather than arbitrary composition rules or guaranteed crack-time claims.

Security boundary

A local meter can flag obvious patterns but cannot prove that a password is safe, unused elsewhere, or absent from every breach corpus. Do not paste sensitive production password exports into batch tools; generate unique secrets locally and store them in an appropriate password manager.

Practical guide and verification

Use a word list with a known selection process

Passphrase entropy depends on the number of possible words and uniform random selection. If words are chosen by preference, theme or grammar, the simple log2(list size) per word estimate no longer describes the true process.

Keep separators and capitalization as usability choices

Changing separators or case can help compatibility or readability, but predictable formatting adds little entropy compared with adding another independently selected word. Do not count cosmetic formatting as though every visual variant were equally random.

Check the target system before generating a long phrase

Some login forms, legacy protocols and password managers impose length or character restrictions. Verify those constraints first so a strong generated phrase is not later truncated or transformed by the destination.

Store generated phrases with the same care as other secrets

Local generation means the words need not be sent to WebToolArc, but copying, screenshots, cloud clipboard history or insecure notes can still expose them. Move the final value directly into the intended password manager or protected workflow.

Prefer uniqueness over memorized reuse

A strong passphrase reused across services can turn one compromise into many. Generate a separate credential for each account when possible, and use a password manager or another secure storage method rather than optimizing one phrase for reuse everywhere.
