Codec and measurement boundaries
Browser decoding differs across Safari, Chrome, Firefox, iOS, and Android. Rendered edits are exported as WAV unless a tool explicitly states another supported container. Loudness analysis is a practical BS.1770-style estimate rather than a certified meter, and sample clipping checks do not replace true-peak oversampling.
How to use the Online Voice Recorder
Choose a microphone and browser recording format, then record with a live input meter. Pause/resume, stop, preview, download, or discard the local recording.
Why use it
Capture microphone audio in the browser; codec/container support depends on MediaRecorder support.
Browser and audio limits
MediaRecorder formats and microphone processing options vary by browser and device. The live meter is browser-visible signal level, not a calibrated SPL meter, and recordings are not uploaded for processing.
Recording format is browser capability
Recorder MIME/device choices depend on MediaRecorder and available devices. A finished recording remains a distinct captured artifact and is not silently re-encoded when settings change.
