The settings-only link excludes dates, batch input, saved-preset names and history. The ICS uses all-day DATE events with an exclusive DTEND on the day after each quarter ends.

Truth boundary. This Studio models four consecutive three-month quarters that start on the first day of a month. Calendar mode is January–December; a shifted fiscal year uses the selected start month. It does not model 4-4-5 / 52-53-week calendars, day-specific fiscal starts such as an April 6 tax year, organization-specific close adjustments, legal filing rules or accounting advice. “US Federal”, “Australia” and other preset names are planning shortcuts for their common month starts, not a substitute for an organization’s published fiscal calendar. Dates are treated as Gregorian civil dates, not time-zone timestamps.

Practical guide and verification

Calendar quarters are date ranges

A standard calendar year divides into Q1 January–March, Q2 April–June, Q3 July–September and Q4 October–December. The quarter is determined by the date’s month, not by counting arbitrary 90-day blocks.

Fiscal calendars can differ

Organizations can start fiscal years in another month or use 4-4-5 style calendars. A calendar-quarter result should not be assumed to match a company’s fiscal reporting period.

Common mistake

Quarter labels around year boundaries can be ambiguous when someone means fiscal year rather than calendar year. Include the year and the start/end dates when sharing a result.

Calendar or duration rule

Calendar quarters are Jan–Mar, Apr–Jun, Jul–Sep and Oct–Dec unless a fiscal calendar says otherwise.

Do not treat calendar quarter results as a company-specific fiscal quarter without checking its fiscal year.

Worked check

Calendar quarters are Q1 = January–March, Q2 = April–June, Q3 = July–September and Q4 = October–December. A May date should therefore map to Q2. Fiscal quarters can use a different year start and should not be assumed to match calendar quarters.

Rule: Calendar quarters are Jan–Mar, Apr–Jun, Jul–Sep and Oct–Dec unless a fiscal calendar says otherwise. Do not treat calendar quarter results as a company-specific fiscal quarter without checking its fiscal year. For a final check, distinguish calendar arithmetic from elapsed duration, confirm the intended local date or time zone, and inspect month-end, leap-year or daylight-saving boundaries when they can affect the meaning.

Quarter boundaries

Calendar quarters are fixed to Jan–Mar, Apr–Jun, Jul–Sep, and Oct–Dec. Day position and remaining days use real Gregorian month lengths.
