IPv4 integer boundaries

The unsigned decimal form is exactly 32 bits: valid input runs from 0 through 4,294,967,295. Leading signs, values outside that range, and decimal text that is not an integer should not be silently wrapped. Keep this tool focused on representation; reachability, ownership, DNS, routing, and geolocation require different evidence.

Use the separate reverse converter when direction matters

WebToolArc already has an IP-address-to-decimal tool, so this page stays intentionally one-directional instead of duplicating another primary tool. When moving data between systems, compare IPv4, decimal, hexadecimal, and binary representations before assuming a mismatch is a network problem.

Keep transport format separate from numeric meaning

APIs, databases, spreadsheets, and logs may store the same IPv4 address as dotted decimal text, an unsigned integer, hexadecimal, or four raw bytes. The conversion can be numerically correct while a downstream system still interprets byte order or signedness differently. When exchanging data with another platform, document the expected 32-bit order and compare a known test address before converting a full dataset.
