Lines to Comma-Separated List

Join lines into a comma list while safely quoting commas and double quotes inside items.

Text cleanup runs locally in your browser. These tools operate on plain text lines; structured CSV/JSON/XML and regex workflows remain in their dedicated tools.

Lines to Comma List: CSV Quoting & Dedupe Audit

Convert lines into RFC-style quoted CSV, inspect empty and duplicate items, and verify a reversible line-to-list round trip.

CSV-style quoting protects embedded commas and quotes

Items containing commas, quotes or line breaks need quoting; the paired comma-to-lines tool parses doubled quotes.

Repeatable text workflow

Use output as input only when the preview is what you intended. Restore returns to the page-load sample, and the before/after audit remains local to your browser.

Practical guide and verification

Decide whether the result is plain text or CSV

Simply joining lines with commas is not enough when an item itself contains a comma, quote or newline. CSV-style quoting preserves those values so a downstream spreadsheet or parser can reconstruct them correctly.

Trim only when whitespace is not data

Leading and trailing spaces are often accidental, but in identifiers, fixed-width data or quoted content they can be meaningful. Review the cleaning behavior before removing whitespace from a production list.

Handle duplicates as a separate decision

Conversion changes the delimiter; it does not inherently decide whether repeated items should be kept. Deduplicate only when repeated values are truly redundant for the target workflow.

Count source lines and output items

A line count should normally match the number of emitted items unless blank-line removal or deduplication is enabled. Comparing those counts is a quick way to catch an unexpectedly dropped value.

Test embedded punctuation before bulk use

Use a sample containing commas, double quotes and blank values before processing a large list. If the target system expects a custom delimiter rather than CSV rules, select that format explicitly and verify a round-trip.
