Distance Between Coordinates Calculator

Compare two GPS coordinates using a spherical Earth model and see kilometers, miles, nautical miles, and central angle.

—Great-circle distance

Coordinate calculations run locally in your browser. Great-circle distance, bearing, midpoint, destination, and radius tools use a spherical Earth model (mean radius 6,371,008.8 m), so survey-grade ellipsoidal/geodesic results can differ slightly.

Bearing, midpoint & multi-unit handoff

Keep the great-circle distance result and add initial bearing, midpoint coordinates and a compact verification table for GIS handoff.

Distance + bearing
Uses the same spherical Earth model as the calculator above. Survey-grade ellipsoidal/geodesic software can differ slightly.

Great-circle vs rhumb-line route comparison

Use the same coordinate pair from the primary calculator and compare two navigation models: shortest spherical great-circle travel versus constant-bearing rhumb-line travel. The audit adds final/rhumb bearings, route saving, optional transit time and intermediate great-circle waypoints.

Both route models use the mean spherical Earth radius for a transparent comparison. They do not model WGS84 ellipsoidal geodesics, terrain, roads, airspace, currents or other real routing constraints.

Keep coordinate conventions explicit

Latitude/longitude order, hemisphere, datum and precision can all change the interpreted location. WebToolArc keeps WGS84 assumptions visible and separates conversion math from geocoding.

Verify before reuse

A formatted coordinate can look plausible while being swapped, rounded too aggressively or interpreted in the wrong system. Decode or open a map link before importing important points elsewhere.
