Morse Code WPM & Duration Calculator

Count signal and spacing units, then convert them into milliseconds and seconds using standard Morse timing ratios.

Runs locally in your browser. International Morse timing follows the ITU 1-dot / 3-dot / 7-dot spacing relationships. WPM timing uses the conventional PARIS reference (dot = 1200/WPM ms).

Morse WPM & Farnsworth timing planner

Calculate message duration from actual dits, dahs and spacing. Keep character speed separate from optional effective Farnsworth speed, then expose exact element, letter and word gap timing instead of returning one unexplained total.

Farnsworth mode keeps character elements at the character WPM and stretches inter-character spacing when the effective WPM is lower.

Duration follows the actual timing plan

Text or Morse input can be measured with separate character/Farnsworth speeds, with signal and spacing time broken out rather than multiplying every unit by one dot duration.

International Morse boundary

WebToolArc follows ITU-R M.1677-1 for the International Morse alphabet and the 1-dot / 3-dot / 7-dot spacing relationships. Common extensions are labeled separately, and learning-oriented Farnsworth spacing changes gaps without changing dit/dah character speed.
