Prosigns are procedural signals

A prosign represents an operating instruction or procedural meaning, not merely ordinary letters sent with normal spacing. Conventions can vary between amateur, maritime and historical practice, so compare the reference with the operating standard used by your course or radio service.

Operational signals kept distinct from text characters

ITU operational signals are searchable as continuous procedural patterns. Character extensions that happen to share a pattern are not silently relabeled as official prosigns.

International Morse boundary

WebToolArc follows ITU-R M.1677-1 for the International Morse alphabet and the 1-dot / 3-dot / 7-dot spacing relationships. Common extensions are labeled separately, and learning-oriented Farnsworth spacing changes gaps without changing dit/dah character speed.
