Planning notes
Start with the measurement this calculator asks for, then use related length, area/volume, roof, stair, material, waste, or cut-planning tools only when the job needs them. Inputs and results stay in the browser.
Enter project and paver dimensions, then plan paver count, waste, optional cost, compacted base, and bedding sand.
Plan the layers below the pavers separately from the surface-unit count.
Use the exact calculator first, then stress-test realistic field measurement and rounding tolerance before a cut or purchase. Keep structural design, code approval and supplier specifications outside the browser estimate.
The primary rectangle calculator and base/bedding panel remain first. This optional takeoff reuses WTA170.paver() while adding circle/direct-area footprints, pattern-specific waste, base-footprint overhang, compaction/order overage, edge restraint and a copyable assumption record.
Foundation depths continue to come from the existing base & bedding controls above.
Start with the measurement this calculator asks for, then use related length, area/volume, roof, stair, material, waste, or cut-planning tools only when the job needs them. Inputs and results stay in the browser.
Use the tool first, then apply these checks to verify inputs, interpret the result, and hand it off without displacing the primary workflow.
Waste percentage should cover cuts, breakage, pattern complexity, and irregular edges rather than compensate for an uncertain area measurement. Verify the shape dimensions first, then choose a pattern allowance appropriate to the actual layout. Curves, diagonals, borders, and herringbone work usually create more offcuts than a simple rectangular running bond.
Paver count comes from surface area and paver module size, while base and bedding quantities come from area multiplied by depth. A correct paver count does not prove the excavation or aggregate order is correct. Verify compacted depth, soil conditions, drainage, and the manufacturer or local installation specification separately.
Nominal paver names are not always the exact installed dimensions. Joint width changes coverage, and packaged products may be sold by layer, pallet, square foot, or piece. Enter the manufacturer dimension when available, then reconcile the calculated pieces with package quantities and supplier coverage before ordering.
Record the shape, pattern, waste, base depth, bedding depth, edge length, and any compaction or order overage used. That evidence makes later price comparisons meaningful and helps explain why a supplier quote differs. Field conditions, edge restraint, geotextile, drainage, and delivery minimums remain outside a simple browser estimate.
