Area divided by sheet area gives a useful lower bound, but real cut plans can require more sheets because pieces do not tile perfectly. Use the panel-fit workspace for repeated rectangles and kerf, then compare that count with the simple area estimate rather than treating either one as automatically sufficient.
Nominal plywood sizes, pre-cut panels and local products can differ. Enter the real sheet length and width, and only allow rotation when grain direction, face orientation, structural rating, or finish requirements permit the piece to be turned.
Every cut consumes material, and some projects also require factory edges, trimming, damaged-edge allowance, or minimum strip widths. Kerf is not the same thing as general waste, so show it separately from the waste percentage instead of hiding all losses in one factor.
