Field measurement & procurement tolerance audit

Rebuild the visible project math independently, then perturb the field measurements to expose a min/base/max envelope before cutting or ordering. This is a planning cross-check, not structural engineering, code approval, or supplier certification.

Refresh the field audit after entering project measurements above.
Browser-local planning cross-check. Verify final dimensions on site before cutting or ordering.

Carry measurement uncertainty into the material decision

Use the exact calculator first, then stress-test realistic field measurement and rounding tolerance before a cut or purchase. Keep structural design, code approval and supplier specifications outside the browser estimate.

Wall module → brick count → pack rounding

Mortar-joint module dimensions govern the estimate. Waste and optional pack/pallet rounding are purchase assumptions, not wall geometry.

Use the product label as the final purchase input

Coverage, package size, density, pattern repeat and usable yield vary by manufacturer and material. v265 keeps these values editable and shows rounding/overage explicitly instead of presenting a default as a hidden certainty.

Practical guide and verification

Use the product workflow above first. These notes add interpretation, verification and limits without displacing the inputs, results or visual review.

Count the wall using the brick-plus-joint module

For a single-wythe face calculation, the effective module is brick face length plus the horizontal mortar joint by brick face height plus the vertical joint. Using bare brick dimensions without the joint overestimates the number of units per square foot.

Deduct openings before adding waste

Doors and windows reduce the net wall area. Apply the brick coverage to that net area, then add the chosen waste allowance for cuts, breakage and selection. Applying waste to the gross wall before subtracting large openings can overstate the order.

Waste is a planning allowance, not a universal constant

Simple running-bond walls may need less extra material than walls with many corners, openings, curves or decorative bonds. Use the default only as a starting point and adjust it to the actual layout, cutting pattern and supplier return policy.

Mortar yield is more variable than brick count

Bag yield changes with joint width, joint depth, unit absorption, workmanship and product formulation. Treat a mortar-bag estimate as a range or planning quantity and replace generic yield assumptions with the manufacturer’s coverage data for the bag you will buy.

Confirm wall type and structural requirements separately

A face-area brick count does not design a structural masonry wall, ties, reinforcement, lintels, flashing, weeps or foundations. Verify local code, engineering requirements, bond pattern and supplier dimensions before turning the browser estimate into a purchase or construction decision.
