Confirm the source page before tiling

A multi-page PDF can contain pages with different sizes or orientations. Verify the selected source page and its dimensions before generating tiles, especially when the printed page number does not match the PDF page index. Keep the original document so an incorrect page choice or crop does not become the only retained copy.

Coordinate overlap, margins, and printer settings

Tile overlap helps physical alignment, while sheet margins must leave room for the printer’s unprintable area. The browser-generated PDF cannot control a later print dialog, so print at the intended 100% or actual-size setting unless a deliberate scaling step is required. A second scaling operation can defeat the planned poster dimensions.

Test one sheet before committing a large print job

Large posters can create many output sheets. Open the generated PDF, inspect edge tiles and overlap marks, and print one representative sheet before using paper and ink for the complete set. Check orientation, clipping, page order, and physical ruler dimensions when final assembled size matters.

Treat complex PDFs as a compatibility boundary

Vector content can remain sharp when the PDF library supports the source page, but encrypted, malformed, signed, XFA, form-heavy, transparency-heavy, or unusually constructed PDFs may not reproduce perfectly. Visually compare the tiled output with the source and use specialist PDF software when fidelity or archival requirements exceed browser-library support.
