Practical guide and verification
Random output still needs a defined pool
A name generator can only sample from the lists and rules it is given. “Random” does not mean representative of every culture, language, age group, or population.
Use cases
Random names are useful for mock data, games, writing prompts, classroom activities, and test fixtures. For real people, identity matching, or demographic inference, synthetic names are not evidence.
Uniqueness
If you need a list without repeats, generate without replacement or check duplicates after generation. A random process with replacement can legitimately return the same name more than once.
