Practical guide and verification
Unicode lookalikes are not true small caps
Many “small caps” generators substitute Unicode characters that resemble small capitals. That is different from a font’s OpenType small-caps feature, which uses glyphs designed for the typeface.
Compatibility
Lookalike characters can render differently across devices and fonts, and some letters have no close Unicode small-cap equivalent. Copy the result into the destination app before relying on its appearance.
Search and accessibility
Decorative Unicode substitutions may affect search, pronunciation, copy/paste, and screen-reader behaviour. For headings, names, or important text, ordinary letters with typographic styling can be more accessible.
