Why the layout is two-way

Many conversion tasks involve checking values in both directions. Keeping both editable values visible removes the extra Convert step and makes repeated comparisons faster.

Units and precision

The optional comparison table shows every supported unit in the selected dimension. Data storage keeps decimal kB/MB/GB separate from binary KiB/MiB/GiB, and temperature conversions use offset formulas.

Conversion method

Most measurement categories convert through a base unit: multiply by the source factor, then divide by the destination factor. Temperature is different because its scales have different zero points.
