Find the offset for a local time
Enter an IANA zone and local date/time. The tool resolves that wall-clock value, then reports the UTC offset, offset minutes, UTC instant, and whether the local time was unique, repeated, or nonexistent.
Why the date matters
Many zones change offset seasonally. “New York is UTC−5” is not always true; daylight time commonly changes the offset to UTC−4.
Offset-at-an-instant semantics
UTC offset belongs to a zone at a specific instant. During a fall-back repetition one wall-clock time can map to two offsets; during a spring-forward gap it can map to none.
