APA In-Text Citation Generator

Enter authors or a group author, year, and optional page or paragraph locator to generate both APA 7 in-text citation forms.

Leave blank when the author is an organization.

For direct quotations, APA commonly adds a page, paragraph, section, or timestamp locator when one is available. This generator exposes those fields explicitly instead of guessing one.

Structured citation workflow

v10.92 connects style-specific generators, source-specific metadata forms, in-text citations, local saved references, list cleanup, and style comparison while preserving the established citation engines and selectors.

Accuracy boundary

A citation generator can format only the metadata it receives. WebToolArc keeps manual inputs visible, distinguishes explicit DOI/ISBN lookups from arbitrary webpage scraping, and recommends checking instructor, journal, institutional, and source-specific exceptions before submission.

How to use this APA In-Text Citation Generator

Enter individual authors or a group author, publication year, and an optional page, paragraph, section, or timestamp locator. The tool shows both parenthetical and narrative forms.

Accuracy and limits

APA 7 uses an author–date system. Two-author citations differ between parenthetical and narrative wording, three or more authors normally shorten to “et al.”, and group abbreviations have distinct first/subsequent forms.
