A vCard QR code carries contact data

The QR payload is structured contact text rather than a picture of a business card. Field names, line breaks, escaping and vCard version can affect how phone contact apps import the data.

Share only fields you intend to publish

A QR code can be copied indefinitely. Avoid embedding private phone numbers, home addresses or notes that should not be distributed with the card.

Common mistake

Different contact apps may interpret optional fields differently, especially multiple phone numbers, labels, organization fields and non-ASCII text. A successful scan does not guarantee every field imported exactly as intended.

Standards and assignment boundary
