Local PDF check · every page · no upload

1 · Choose a PDF

Inspect the whole document, not only page 1. A PDF can quietly mix A4, Letter, landscape and cropped pages.

Choose a PDF or load the mixed-size sample.
Privacy: parsing is local. The page may load the open-source PDF parser library from a public CDN, but your PDF file is not sent to that CDN or to WebToolArc.

2 · Page-size verdict

The quick verdict uses the effective CropBox when present and reports MediaBox separately so print/preflight differences are visible.

Practical guide and verification

Which PDF box matters

PDF pages can define MediaBox, CropBox, BleedBox, TrimBox, and ArtBox values. What a viewer shows or a printer uses can depend on which box is relevant to the workflow.

Points and physical size

PDF page coordinates are commonly expressed in points, with 72 points per inch. Converting those coordinates to inches or millimetres is straightforward, but it does not describe raster-image resolution inside the page.

Common mistake

A PDF that displays as A4 or Letter may contain a different underlying media box or crop box. Do not assume the visible window size is the complete production geometry.

Print-target page-size tolerance preflight

After the primary PDF checker reports page dimensions, use this preflight to test a page list against A4, US Letter or a custom print target. Set a millimetre tolerance and choose whether rotated orientation is acceptable; every page is classified with its width/height deviation instead of only reporting distinct sizes.

This audit uses the dimensions entered or reported by the browser-side checker. PDF MediaBox/CropBox/BleedBox/TrimBox/ArtBox can differ; print production should confirm the box required by the printer.

PDF processing boundaries

These tools operate within browser memory and the capabilities of the browser PDF libraries used on this page. Encrypted, malformed, scanned, XFA, unusual forms, complex signatures, OCR-dependent documents, and advanced desktop-editor features can require specialist software. Always verify generated files before discarding the source.
